High Protein Overnight Oats with Pear & Greek Yogurt
September 29, 2026 | Serves 2 | Prep 10 min | Total 4 hr 10 min
These high protein overnight oats are creamy, cozy and basically fall breakfast in a jar. Made with Greek yogurt, chia seeds and almond butter, then topped with juicy pear and crunchy pecans, each serving has 26 grams of protein and 14 grams of fiber. No protein powder required.

In my commercial food photography work, Harry & David has been one of my favorite longtime clients. I mean, who wouldn’t love getting boxes of beautiful seasonal fruit delivered throughout the year and being paid to photograph it?
But when fall rolls around, my husband and I get especially excited about the pear shipments. He’s always been the bigger pear lover in our house, but the more I eat them, the more convinced I am that pears are seriously underrated and unfairly overshadowed by apples.
A perfectly ripe pear is sweet, juicy and so good all on its own. And when I realized just how much fiber one medium pear packs (about 5.5 grams)? Well, hello!! They’ve become a regular in my fruit bowl.
So when I decided to make an autumn-inspired high protein overnight oats recipe, I knew pears deserved their moment. They add natural sweetness and plenty of fiber, while Greek yogurt, milk, chia seeds and almond butter help bring each serving to 26 grams of protein and 14 grams of fiber, without using protein powder.
Why It's on My Midlife Table
I love having breakfast ready to go for two mornings in a row, but I also love how much goodness is packed into each jar. Between the oats, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, almond butter, milk and pear, I’m getting the combination I’m always looking for: protein, fiber, healthy fats, whole-food carbs and calcium. And it’s creamy, filling and naturally sweet from the pear, with just a little crunch from the pecans.
Nourishment Snapshot
Here's what this recipe brings to the table.
- Protein: 26 g
- Fiber: 14 g
- Added Sugar: 0 g
- Calcium: 447 mg

A Few Things You'll Need
- Old-fashioned rolled oats (you can find my favorite here)
- Plain Greek yogurt
- Chia seeds
- Almond butter
- Pear
- Pecans

Cook's Notes & Substitutions
- For more protein: Stir 1 tablespoon of your favorite protein powder into the full
2-serving batch. This will bring each serving to about 32 grams of protein, depending on the brand. You can also use a higher-protein milk. - No pears? I know what I said above, but apples would be delicious here, too. Use one medium apple in place of the pear and chop it just before serving.
- Make it ahead: The oats need at least 4 hours in the refrigerator to soften and thicken, but you can make them the night before and have breakfast ready to go in the morning.
- Keep the toppings fresh: Add the chopped pear and pecans just before serving rather than mixing them into the oats before refrigerating.
